A Sacrament is a sacred act commanded by Jesus in which God’s Word is not only spoken but enacted through visible signs. In the sacraments, God uses ordinary items such as water, bread, and the cup to communicate grace, to remind us of God’s saving work in Christ, and to strengthen our faith.
